Shropshire Gundog Society - Novice A.V. Spaniel Field Trial
17th January 2008
Sundorne Estate, Shropshire

The Shropshire Gundogs Novice A.V. Spaniel Field Trial was held on Thursday 17th January at Sundorne Estate in Shropshire. The day started off with dark clouds that threatened heavy rain but luckily when we entered the estate they cleared and weather stayed nice till the run of the last few dogs when hail and heavy rain descended. All dogs worked well and each was able to have a flush and retrieve due to the good shooting of the guns. And in the end it was a close decision for who got first and second place which concluded in a run off between Keltic Firecracker (Mr C. Lewis, Pictured right) and Merlin Hill Gemini (Mr K Jones) with Keltic Firecracker just taking the win.

The Shropshire Gundog Society would like to thank all the competitors for entering and the judges (Mr ThurstonWoolnough and Mr Roberts) for making the hard decision and choosing the winners.

Also the club and all the competitors would like to thank Mr Vic Randle for being the Steward of the Beat and his wife Chris for their hospitality on the day.

Plus a huge thank you to Mr J. De quincey for his kind invitation letting the club use his land to run the trial on. The land was more than outstanding to run the dogs in and competitors even said they wished they could train their dogs on it.

And finally everyone who attended the event would like to thank Mr Martyn Zielinski who is the clubs Field Trial Secretary and the days Chief Steward for organising everything and making the day immensely successful and enjoyable for everyone.
