May 2011 Whitchurch The Open show was well supported with 172 dogs of various gundog breeds competing under 15 judges in the breed specific classes. The finale saw 22 dogs challenging for the top honour of Best in Show under judge Mrs Eileen Gates from Sheffield. Winner for the second year running was the Irish Water Spaniel dog, MALINIS SANDOR BY GLENDERRY owned by Ms V Norman- Massa from Derbyshire. Reserve best in show was English Setter dog, BOURNEHOUSE SILVER QUEST AT PHLERDOR owned and bred by Mrs Penny Williams. Group three was Weimaraner SAGUTO MIGUEL owned by Mrs J Hawkins. Group four was Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla bitch, Miadsc Diamond owned by Mrs R D Summerfield. Ten puppies were present in the Best Puppy in show group with Irish Setter dog, ALOLFRAN INSPIRED WITH TIME owned by Mrs R Danks- Kemish from Barmouth taking the top place. Reserve was Golden Retriever dog, JOBEKA JUST A MIRACLE owned by Mr & Mrs Joe & Beryl Stokes. Group three was Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla bitch, FASSFIELDS QUEEN BREHA owned by Mr & Mrs J & G F Riley. Group four was Flatcoat Retriever bitch, WAINHAWKE BEATRICE owned by Mrs Chris Gray.
